The Cultivating Change Series was founded in July 2012 with with the publication of the ebook, Cultivating Change in the Academy: 50+ Stories from the Digital Frontlines at the University of Minnesota in 2012Starting from a simple invitation, this collaboration of 130 authors and 15 designers produced a 50+ chapter ebook and companion site in just 10 weeks. This ebook was published in both an interactive web edition and as a download from the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy including PDF and native formats for a variety of e-readers.

Before long, additional scholars expressed interest in creating their own ebooks, interactive web editions, and collections of digital scholarship and digital storytelling. A second volume in the Cultivating Change Series followed in July 2013: Cultivating Change in the Academy: The Art of Hosting and Conversations that Matter within the University of Minnesota. This ebook can also be downloaded from the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy as a PDF or in native formats for a variety of e-readers.

The third volume in the series,  Stories from Faculty Fellows: Adventures in Technology-Enhanced Learning was published in Spring 2014. This collection documents pedagogical design and research projects from faculty fellows in the OIT Faculty Fellowship Program. It is a native webtext featuring articles, digital/video stories, and multimedia/interactive texts.
